The American job market is starting to show some muscle.

The U.S. employment report indicated 216,000 job were added in March, bringing the nation's unemployment rate down to 8.8% and further pointing to a continued recovery.
.The government's broadest snapshot of the labor market showed the U.S. created 216,000 jobs in March as the private sector added 230,000 jobs, offset in part by continued cuts by local governments.

The types of background checks companies choose to perform is largely dependent upon their line of business, staffing needs and the expense involved. Some may say that more information is better, but sometimes “more” may just mean more time and more expense.

Whatever determination you make, maintain a consistent approach in order to prevent possible discriminatory practices.
